I do still quilt.
As a matter of fact, this is the second top, well I made busy blocks that I hated (donated to a friend who will make it into a charity top) with the Cat in the Hat fabric.
I have minkie for the backing. This will be a gift for one of Jacob's day care ladies, who is going to have a baby in August.

local quilt show
Another fun filled weekend & yet all of the photos are stuck on my camera. Meanwhile 2 weekends ago, we went to a local quilt show - here are some pictures to amuse your senses this morning.

Around the Md. State House
I dashed up really quick to take a couple shots. We had to dash back before our 2 hour parking was up & we saw an Ice Cream shoppe that needed to be visited before we left.
They had my favorite flavor - cinnamon!
It looks nicer on the Quarter - without the scaffolding.
I always questioned the use of the Cupola on the Maryland State Quarter (I thought Ft. McHenry would have been better) but they did not ask me.
Anyway after the quilt show, the boys & I went into Historic Annapolis & we plan on returning.

local quilt show
Once upon a time ago, i was totally smitten with Koi - fabric in particular. I finished 1 Koi quilt, have one Koi UFO & I might have a Koi pile-o-fabric.
Mind you the one that is completed is a Faux log cabin, the UFO will probably be a spider web, & the pile-o-fabric was supposed to be a scrappy rectangles quilt.
Nothing near as artistic or complicated as this lovely piece.

working on the layout - more or less
1. I am loving how this is coming along.
2. I am not nearly as displeased with the blocks that have 2 prints as I originally thought. Mostly because when a skinny print from block A is next to a fat print in block B, they will look like a block with 2 prints.
3. I have about 20 more blocks to piece.
4. I am definitely piecing them with white. :o)
What are you doing in there?
My son's trains are in that red bin - not comfy at all.
It was hilarious watching him get in there, only to turn around to see her face!

I've been sewing
I made some blocks that are 2 prints - I now wish I hadn't, but not enough to unsew them...

This one had some pretty great novelty prints.
(If you have any that I show in the next two posts, I'd love some!)

This was part of a challenge... (Something DC centric, but I can't recall exactly what...) This one was in my top favorites. (I only wish that she added the "planned" purple line... Maybe as very very light lavender...)
& the close-up
Do you see the waves print. In the pattern that I have seen for this (In an old Scrap Quilts book) all of the units made that design. I like seeing this scrappier version too. The one in the book (according to my faulty recollection) was done in 30's repros.

I love how this pineapple alternates between black & white.
I've never felt the urge to make this pattern, but...

5 The next 5 quilts (this one included) were part of a bee challenge. I love challenges that use one block (to a lesser extent pattern) differently!
Which is your favorite?
