The whole quilt.

(Description in the next post.)

I am still seriously in like with this quilt. I bought a ton of that blue print & I still have some. It was nice to use a lot of it all together, I don't do that very often.

A block & the binding.

Pattern: Marquee
Book: The Modern Quilt Workshop
Authors: Weeks Ringle & Bill Kerr

Question...

Twenty 16 inch blocks (4x5 layout) = roughly 64x80 (+ 4-ish inches to finish the double squares) - big enough?

I had planned on a flying geese border, but right now, I am needing to trim some of those squares (I was going to use the Eleanor Burns method for making flying geese) to go around the other 8 flying geese in a circle & honestly, the flying geese are looking like a lot of work for a quilt that will already be "big enough."

I am wholeheartedly soliciting opinions on this one regarding the flying geese border.

Quilt back #2 pieced

Quilt back #2 pieced

what would you do? Or how would you do this?

I just purchase 7 yards of muslin, so I can either cut WOF or LOF. Which would you do & why?

If you don't recall, my pieced back needs to be bigger to fit its top & I decided that a muslin "border" would do the job perfectly.

Black on black squares print chosen for the binding & it will probably be quilted using a stipple. For those of you who might want to know.

I right now don't have a preference because I have a use for 6 inch squares & 2.5 x 10.5 strips & 1.5 x 10.5 strips - I can get those units out of the left overs either way the fabric is cut.

Heck, I even have a use for 1.5 inch squares of white!

"Meow"

Do you flickr? Well instead of just "hello" flickr teaches you how to say hello in other languages. Apparently cat & dog are now languages. Those guys at flickr are funny...

Since Flickr taught me to speak cat, do you think my cat can read, "meow?"

Hexagon Love

I originally took this photo in 2010! (If you have been around that long, thanks.) & Yes, it still is a UFO. Not one that I pick up very often, but it is still semi active - especially since I keep adding fabric to it...

I'm not willing to say that this is my oldest UFO... Nor am I willing to figure out which one is the oldest.

I really miss you old man cat. I made a long binding strip & I am sure that you would have tried to catch it.

Old Lady cat on the other hand wasn't even in the same room.

Now to go & attach the binding strip while my mojo is still up.

(I've been feeling pretty awful the past two day. Not sick or the flu, but abdominal pain.)

Shakespeare in the Park quilt top

This quilt top has been quilted for quite some time now...

The binding has been attached for quite some time now...

I loved the Ricky Tims commercially dyed print & not solid light to go with it for long enough to keep them together with the pattern for quite some time.

I love how it turned out...

I'm not so sure (right now) that I like it enough to spend the time needed to finish the binding...

Sad? Lesson on getting things done more quickly? Am I alone?

my reader

I knwo this is an old photo that you have seen 2 or 3 times already but it fits with my story...

Last night my little reader brought in a book to read. When I tried to read it, he said, "No, I want to read it."

Please tell me he is not "that" big already!

(Couple hours later he cried himself to sleep because we did not have dessert.)
