Road trip tomorrow - After taking Amtrak down to S. Carolina...

We are going to drive my in-Laws car from S. Carolina to Maryland...

We can either be boring & predictable and stick to the 95 corridor, or head west then north visiting Mary Jo's & then driving through the Appalachian Mountains to Maryland...

It's been a few years since I have been to Mary Jo's, but I think it's worth the detour. I remember that I went looking for Asian-inspired fabrics and was blown away by an entire aisle full of Asian fabrics. I also remember bolts and bolts and bolts of cat fabrics and more batiks than I have ever seen in one place. If you go, go with a list ... Otherwise you could be overwhelmed. At least, I was.

I haven't been to Mary Jo's for a few years but it is definitely worth a side trip just for the experience. They are so helpful and polite there plus more fabric than you have ever seen in one location before.

Sounds like you are going to be in my neck of the woods. I do love Mary Jo's because of their huge selection of fabrics. But don't expect to find any moda fabrics there and her prices are not nearly as good as they used to be.She has a great selection of batiks too and every possible notion and ruler you can imagine.

Hope you enjoy your trip!
