Yes, very disappointing. I think I suffered the same shock when bloglines disappeared. How are we going to keep up without GR? I just read though that there are a lot of other readers out there...

I just ran across this too -- surprised!!! We'll have to watch for suggestions for alternatives.

USA Today has an article about four alternatives - obviously, time for a LOT of us to do some due diligence!

Horrible, no? I'm trying out Feedly as recommended by cnet as being a good alternative to Google Reader. So far it's okay. Another article recommended netvibes but they only let you have 64 free subscriptions, for more you have to pay a monthly fee.

If you search for "google Reader replacement," you'll find a lot of lists, suggestions and directions on how to move your subscriptions.

Count me among the disappointed. I also used to use iGoogle as my homepage--it's going away, too, but at least there was more notice about it.

I've been using Feedly on my iPad so thought I'd try out the web version. Hmmm...
I don't like the web version as well as the tablet app, but it will do. Here's a link to a feedly post that my DS sent to me.

I am going to test a few of them and see what I like best but I'm not going to make a quick decision. I expect to see some new options before July.

I just swapped to Bloglovin. Absolutely love it . It was an easy transmission too. Google it.
