I filed this one under "figures." As in it figures that a quilt that I like that is apparently "doable" is one that I don't "need" to make. Mind you, I don't "need" to make any quilts, but with my stuffed to the gils list of "want to makes" there needs to be a "need" associated as well.

This one may have been my favorite. A couple ladies that I was standing near really liked those yo-yos - This part is distracting to me. I loved that the calico fabrics is one piece of hand dyed fabric!
My son's favorite quilt. He was in the stroller & I would place him in front of quilts while I took photographs. When in front of this one he said, "Kitty." (& he called them by our cat's nicknames - 'boo-boo' & 'mahmee.' not that any of the 4 look like the others...)

We had a birthday party to go to in the Mall yesterday, we got there early enough to get new shoes for Jacob & to catch some of the Chinese New Year's celebration.
Someone went to a Birthday party at Backyard Inflateables indoor facility. He had a blast!
I had my quilt sister figure out my block size... 7 inches finished.
So 10 blocks for the width (instead of my assumed 15) would be nice - especially since I am planning a border...
& I have scaled down the length as well to 12 blocks.
So 10x12=120 blocks - so I need to recount how many I have cut already & I just might be able to weed out some of the polka dots - I have a lot of polka dots...
Meanwhile, I have my Kona solids jelly roll, but I have not trimmed up/down my other Kona solid scraps. (I guess you really can't trim up, now can you...)
She chose this one in green - I really do think I can find the green. I cut some of all of my greens for a pieced back. But you see I am so much not a pieced backer... (I want them done using the minimal number of seams - 2 or 3 is ideal, 4 is doable...) Those fabrics are waiting for a good press & some sub cutting. So that I can give that pieced back idea another go.
Luckily If I can not find the green, the orange is fine too.
& To think I almost did not include the Halloween kitties - then again these aren't "serious" halloween prints.
A friend asked me for a black cat. I loaded 13 pictures onto flickr, many of which have more than one print.
I was suprised by how many do not have black cats... (& yet, I was able to take 13 pictures.)
I did not include the black on white cats as she is making a snowball quilt with white corner triangles.
& that one on the left just might be the oldest fabric in my stash.
He is reading a Hebrew book, so he is turning the pages the correct way. He is also not happy that his camera happy mom was taking theses picutes. He also would love to only wear the "cars" pyjamas.
Ahhh to be a toddler.
On the bright side - we are about to ditch all of the sippy cups and baby spoons. :o( <- sad mommy face.
You gals are the greatest. I am going to use my scrappy black & whites to make a quilt inspired by this one. I have Kona solids for the solids & will be using the prints where this one has pieced windows.
But no one doubted that I had quite a few b&w cats, right.
(I know at least one more that is not in this photo - a black on white of one of these... It is in a pile of black on whites that are to be the background of a project that I will have to think about as I go & I am not ready for a think-y project right now.)
I am hoping to amass 300 different 3.5 inch black & white squares. (There are just over 100 in this photo. I have more to cut, but not 200 more...)
