cat quilt

3 fabric challenge

The pattern for these kitties is in a book that I own "The Cat's Meow" by Janet Kime. It is even on the cover of her book.

It is a personal UFO of mine too...

I hate to admit how long it has been cut out waiting...

The hard (tails twisted together) blocks are done...

& I accepted a challenge to do 36 inches a day on my HUGE pile of binding that needs to be done. (Since I only mentioned it here today, the challenge starts today - in other words, not a stitch was taken yesterday.) Be sure to ask me how it is going especially if I fail to mention it myself...

This one was part of a 3 fabric challenge at a local show that I attended several months ago.

My favorite quilt from the show.

My favorite quilt from the show.

For Months, I have been saying, I want to share that Penguin quilt. The close-ups that follow will show you why. The quilter must be a good fimo artist as well, because the penguis tourists are so perfect. & unlike the hankie quilt, I like how the quilts are incorporated into this quilt - framed... (Or Sorry, you probably have not seen the hankie quilt yet.)

The applique & embellishments fimo or otherwise are why I really liked this quilt.

(Now I really want to do my Aussie vacation quilt. - How long has that one been "on hold?")

I really liked the concept of this quilt if not the execution. What I mean is I loved the use of hankies, crocheted bits & the fabrics. I even like the idea of haveing the sayings on it. I don't like the way the sayings are fused on. You'll see more in my close-oups. (This was hung high, so my close-ups are linited to the bottome of the quilt.)

It really does not matter where we are/he is. It's a good think that we have a nice lullabye CD. :o)

Meanwhile as grizzled a quilter as I am & with the number of quilt shows that I have under my belt this one was a first for me!
