Is this cheating?

So there I am looking through a magazine...

What do I see, a border that makes me want to see the whole quilt. Well, that is what I thought, but it was actually a "table runner" for the foot of your bed.

Is that cheating? Would any of you consider making one?

The same magazine gave me a pretty good idea on how to use my Liberty collection... & It had anpther quilt that is right up my alley - simple straighforward & scrappy!

Or if the quilt you made for the bed is a bit too short then put it over the pillows instead. I think it is an excellent idea!

I saw that pattern. :) I always have cold feet in bed, and it occurred to me that something like that would keep my feet warmer, without heating up the whole bed in summer (it was the 4th of July pattern, right?)

Seems like just a decorator item. Don't think I'd want that (just something more to deal with), but everyone's different.

My sister made them for the foot of twin beds at her beach house. She has white spreads on the beds (which are painted a beautiful shade of aqua) and then has flip flop bed runners at the foot of the beds. They look terrific!

Probably not a table runner for the bed but Possibilities has a couple books call Toppers that are meant to go on large beds but under a plain spread or something -- so you don't have to make a whole king size quilt but it can still look nice.

Only problem is I like sleeping under quilts so I make the whole thing.

I see those in hotels a lot now. I'm a function-over-form girl so I don't get them! LOL!

Oh man, that's a great idea. I'd do it. And just think what a great little toss or thow it would make for a naked baby bottom. You could pull it up handy right there and put it in the middle of the bed when need. Right on!

I think it's brilliant. I always fold a quilt into a narrow strip to spread at the foot on top of my matelasse (sp?) bedspread anyway, so if you make narrow toppers, you can make more than one and rotate by season, holiday, etc.

Thanks for the recipe. Got to try some kugel.

Oh, yes - if Jacob has mastered grabbing, I guess we can expect to find your hair in a ponytail in future pictures (how can little babies yank that hard!).
