Stuff

(Yes, I will post some quilt show photos today.)

1. I have had my first smell related pregnancy issue... On Sunday, I was given a loaf of day old bread, since we had enough sliced bread in the house already, I decided to make Panzanella salad. I had most of the ingredients & it sure was hot enough to warrant a cold salad...

The red onion scent made me nauseaus.... I could not even tast my lovely creation...

2. Why don't bloggers reply? (Is this only a peeve of mine? Am I overly sensitive? I know i don't reply to EVERY post & I know that no one can reply to every post, but if you post a recipe & someone asks a specific question, can't you reply?)

3. I send a .pdf of the Ruth Article to everyone who asked. I'd love to hear what you think about it. (Sorry it does not have the author's citation, etc. I got it from someone who got it from someone & then I cleaned it up in word & adobe...)

O.k. I feel better - I had a few other things but they have left my mind...

smells... when I was p.g. all 4 times, the smell of coffee made me ill - and I LOVE coffee! It was one of the first indications that I was expecting. The worst was with my second pregnancy, I couldn't drive within 3 blocks of a fast food restaurant; the smell of french fries was horrific. Your sense of smell and taste are (apparently) much increased in pregnancy. It's probably a safety mechanism so you don't accidentally ingest something dangerous (like coffee and french fries) ;o)

onions are iffy--- if Costas eats them, i can't be near him, but last night he brought home onion rings and I wanted the whole box..

my huge aversion is garlic. this has been very hard for us because practically every greek recipe calls for garlic, and he likes to throw it in anything else he's making too.

I've also had a hard time with crushed black pepper. Pregnancy is so weird. if I don't regain my love of garlic after the birth it might put my marriage in jeopardy..

and as for bloggers not replying-- if i don't, it's usually because i couldn't find their email address to reply to. i hate blogger for that.. sorry.

ketchup did that for me. like dorothy, it was my first indicator of pregnancy - my husband ate (and still does) eat TONS of ketchup with his burgers and fries.

Your sense of smell is definitely heightened during pregnancy. I lost so much weight that way - pity it doesn't work now LOL.

I try to reply (if there's an email address), but I am also amazed how many people never ever reply. It makes me wonder if you leave 3+ comments on the same blog and the blogger never replies does that mean they don't want you to read their blog??? I'm curious because if so then I had better unsubscribe to quite a few blogs...

For #2, I'm more than happy to reply to questions and such... but the majority of the time those people don't have an email address tied to their comments. I don't reply in my comments (maybe I should?) or post people's questions on my blog in vain hopes of trying to reach them. Seems like to me if they can make the effort to ask a question, they also can make an effort to be sure I can answer it! :)

Hi Amy, I found the Ruth email interesting. What was acceptable then may not be now, what was thought okay then is not necessarily now. We have different laws, different cultures so ya... I don't know :) I don't have an intelligent comment. I don't debate. Get me started on politics as it relates to fulfillment of prophecy THEN I like to talk *hehe*.

Commenting on comments - I have no idea what's expected there. Sometimes I reply, sometimes I don't. There are people who never reply to my comments but I still leave comments anyway.

Hi Amy,

I found the Ruth Article very interesting, we have a huge illegal immigration problem in South Africa at the moment - over 5000 refugees from Zimbabwe are crossing the border every day and we've had racially based riots in the townships, much of what was said in that article also applies here. I'm going to give it to my husband so he can use it in his theology lectures.

I try to reply to every comment I get on my blog. I figure if people leave a comment it's the least I can do. But I have to admit that it's been taking me a few days to do so lately.
