If you could....

If you could go back to High School & do 1 thing over, what would that be?

I would have taken typing & shorthand. (Yes, that is officially 2 things, but i am nothing if not a rule breaker... Even when I make up the rules.)

Please answer in comments or on your blog leaving me a comment to come & read your response.

You couldn't pay me enough money to go back to high school! But if the worst did happen I wouldn't waste so much time thinking I was fat when I look back at photos I really wasn't (especially in comparison to now - best figure I ever had and I wasted it!)

I agree with Ruth. There's not enough incentive in the world to make me endure high school again. But, were I forced, I would take typing (I was going to be a professional then and didn't need to know how to type) and I'd loosen my morals and have more fun.

OMG, return to high school? A death worse than fate. I took typing and later I learned shorthand, which I have since forgotten.

Okay, but since you asked nicely, I'll play. American History. I took it of course, but I think I wrote boys' names inside of hearts in my notebook instead of learning about Thomas Jefferson.

Wait, I take that back, I SHOULD go back and learn math. Not that it would help...

DH just got an invitation to his 30-th reunion. Me...we didn't like each other then, why get together now?!
If I had to go back?...I'd try to transfer to another school and take some classes that were out of my comfort zone and maybe prepare for the future a little better. The teachers back then sure didn't care in our little school!

Typing class? I could do 82wpm back then.

Let's see, I took typing, art, languages. I think I would have doubled up on classes so I could graduate early to get out of there.

Gone to graduation! We moved at the end of senior year and I missed out on graduation. It didn't seem that important at the time, but now I wish I had gone through it.

I loved high school. But I regret not having gone to the prom, and I regret that I never made cheer. So I would have practiced more, and I would have been less self conscious, and I would have invited a guy I knew from another school to go to prom. I wish I would have gone on to a university after graduation too versus going to a junior college (where I was lost and never graduated). The university would have prolonged the high school vibe (sorority, football games, etc). I would have loved that.

Interesting question! Personally I would have taken typing (it would be so useful now) and home ec? I was strictly into science, latin, french language etc.

Great question! My answer - not a damn thing. I was glad to get out of there. Grades were fine, I made it unscathed with a few scars and I think I learned more out of school than in school.

Whew, what a great question though. Ack.

I would return to HS in a heartbeat but I'm not telling what I would do over . . let's just say it would be a huge life changer for me!

I did take shorthand and typing and I'm so glad I did. I think in shorthand and sometimes it's easier for me to write in shorthand and than in regular handwriting.

I'd be less boy-crazy, focus more on studies and prepare for the future. I was so unprepared it was pathetic. Thanks for this post. It was fun to think about.

If I could go back to high school I would take more art classes. Even though I was encouraged to take band and choir, neither my parents or school counselors encouraged me to take art classes. It was all about taking classes for college and what I needed to graduate.
