Happy Summer

In my neck of the woods, Memorial Day (Only An American Holiday?) is the official start of summer. The pools open, the BBQs get going, schools out, etc.

The best part = Monday SLEEPING IN LATE! (As late as two tiny balls of fur will allow that is.)

With that said, I doubt that I will be on line for more than a quick read of e-mail in the mean time, so Enjoy the holiday if you celebrate it.

Enjoy the weekend at any rate!

Have a safe celebration & I hope you get some quilting done - I plan to!

Yes, Memorial Day is a holiday only in the US. Canada's May long weekend was last weekend--Victoria Day. Enjoy your long weekend and hopefully those fur balls will let you sleep in! :)

had to laugh that your summer starts with memorial day weekend. As Norma said, we celebrated Victoria day long weekend in Canada last weekend... that's when our summer starts. That means that though we are further north, (and hence colder) we start summer before you :-)

Happy long-weekend to you to. Memorial day was always "decoration day" when I was growing up in New England. Happy quilting...

Hmmn, sleeping in. I remember that. It's been over two years since I did it (dd turns two next week but you don't sleep in much while pregnant either) but I seem to recall what it was like. Hope you get to do it!

Did you have a nice late start today?
In England it's a Bank Holiday - so a lot of 'official type places shut e.g. banks, government offices, lots of businesses - but lots of shops open. Traditionally it rains - and today it's throwing it down. However, the last Bank Holiday at the start of May was very hot.
What is Memorial Day?

it's been a relaxing three days off, though very little quilty stuff was done. Like the latest projects Amy.
