Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival 2007

Not quite a "new" concept, but one that I like... The quilting is the show on these two quilts.
Popsicle days, Firefly Nights Popsicle Days, Firefly Nights, by: Kay Preston.

Nigil & Victoria Feed the Babies Nigil and Victoria Feed the Babies also by: Kay Preston.

I think I first saw this concept (ignoring the piecing and quilting a scene or design without thinking about if it fits or goes with the top...) quilted onto this quilt:
Feathered Fantasy by: Richard Larson as seen in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine & offered as a free pattern here: Feathered Fantasy .

Wow! Thanks for posting the pictures of the show. It is really inspiring for those of us who can't make it there in person.

Richard Larson is a great friend of mine. How cool to see his work here. We met taking longarm lessons together - his talent sure outranks mine! He quilted my quilt for Quilt Sampler magazine, and is just a delight in person. I'm so glad he had the opportunity to show his talent outside of our geographic area.
