Where in the world are we?

Map showing our tour of the day and our location. (And you can actually read it!) This was our last day in Australia. We had Lamingtons (A Lamington is an Aussie delicacy of songe cake dipped in chocolate and then rolled in coconut - they probably only feed them to the tourists...) and Billy tea this morning near Lorne. We lunched in Apollo Bay and had dinner in Warrnambool - or close to there... All of which was "road food" and not much to write home about, I am just layinging it out to give you an idea of the length of this excursion. Posted by Picasa

Lamingtons just for tourists???? Not bloody likely!! If you'd had time to go into any of our supermarkets you would have seen heaps of them in the cakes section. Schools all round Australia used to have 'lamington drives' to raise funds. Kids would go around their suburb knocking on doors asking if you wanted to buy a dozen lamingtons. I never knew anyone who refused them! Everyone loves 'em - afternoon tea parties wouldn't be the same without our Lamingtons!
