Project Spectrum

Here are a selection of my Purple blocks!

I don't know what I was thinking when I said that I would be making 146 blocks... Turns out that 73 sets of positive and negative cuts makes 73 blocks, not 146 as my feeble brain assumed - which is just as well!

So I have completed all 73 of my blocks. 72 blocks will make a nice 8 x 9 layout with the 73rd for a label on the back. I am using the "test" block for the label as the very light center will show the information best.

As of this morning I have even started to sew blocks together... :o) I am sewing them randomly, which means that eventhough I have a light next to a dark, here - they may not be next to each other later. :o)

WOW! This is stunning! And how great that you only had to sew 73 and not 146! I am so glad you included a picture - I have been trying to figure out what project spectrum would look like. Just love it.

OOH! looking nice. And how cool is it to realize you only have to make 1/2 the blocks you thought and that you were finished with the blocks.

That's going to be one purple quilt! I've done the same math error before. Isn't a nice to know that you errored on calculating too much rather than too little?

They look great Amy, how nice to have to make less blocks than anticipated.

Beautiful! I love that pattern, and yours is turning out to be quite nice. And isn't it funny how we "calculate" at times? I'm anxious to see it all done.

I really like purple, I've made several purple quilts, and yours is a beauty. I have never seen that block before, but it does look very interesting, and looks great in purple.

Beautiful! All those different purples look so much better than just one or two would. Hooray for scrap quilts.
